Day 5 of the Appearance Challenge

You are a Powerful Creator!  I absolutely believe this and have seen and felt it in my own life.  I feel the Power of being a co-creator in my life with God.... but this challenge is all about being a creator in our appearance.  Do you dress with Intention?  I love to dress with Intention every day (but to be real, some days I am rushed and don't have much intention in what I put on), but I do try :-)

Fashion Notes- Red shirt was a FB Yard Sale page find and is oh so soft.  The leopard print pants were from Forever 21  I shared in another post how I was scared to wear them for the longest time.  Necklace and Earrings are both creations of my own.

Day 4 of the Appearance Challenge

When we notice other people's appearance, what is it that we notice first?  Is it the positive, or do we judge them?  Today's challenge is on noticing the positive about other people's appearance and then see if we can notice those same things within ourselves!
Fashion Notes- Collared shirt with a tie on the waist is from Shades Clothing and I dyed it from khaki to this golden color.  Purple shirt is another basic long sleeved T from Gordmans (I have lots of these Ts... they are great staples).  The necklace was a creation that I made  and just had to keep it.  It felt so me and I couldn't let it go.

Day 3 of the Appearance Challenge

I think this topic is one of my favorites!  I love color and how it affects us.  It is a great way to bring our appearance into our emotional healing.

Here are some meanings to colors that we wear-

Red: Root Chakra, Passion, Grounding, Strong, Powerful, Action, Determination, Leadership, I am Here, Security, Movement, Desire, Courage.

Orange: Sacral Chakra, Sexuality, Imagination, Creativity, Warmth, Happiness, Optimistic, Uplifting, Positivity, Magnetism, Abundance, Support, Uninhibited, Stimulating, Free of Limitations, New Ideas, Respect, Adventure, Rejuvenation, Balanced.

Yellow:  Solar Plexus Chakra, Personal Power, Knowledge, Mental Agility, Fun, Optimism, Competence, Strong Will, Driving, Control, Self Esteem, Empowered, Self Confidence.

Green:  Heart Chakra, Balance, Harmony, Fresh, Clean, Balancing between the Head and the Heart, Nurturing, Love, Peacemaker, I Love and Am Loved, Compassion, Stability, Endurance, Forgiveness, Acceptance, Peace.

Blue:  Throat Chakra, Communication, Trust, Loyalty, Honesty, Reliable, Purification, I Speak and Am Heard, Expressive, Tranquility, Spirit, Contemplation, Caring, Calm, Wisdom.

Indigo:  Third Eye Chakra, Intuition, Higher Mind, Deep Concentration, Meditation, Perception, Awareness, Clear Sight, Visionary, Faithful, Selflessness, Structure, Order, Wisdom.

Purple:  Crown Chakra, Understanding, Oneness, Spirituality, Imagination, Higher Conscientiousness, Dreams, Sensitivity, Unity, Enlightenment, Royalty, Nobility, Luxury, Self Assured.

These are just some of the colors and some of what the colors can bring out in us or help us heal in us.

*Fashion Notes- I am wearing a Shades tie, collared shirt that was green already, but I died it a bit richer green. Mustard Yellow long sleeve shirt from Gordman's for maybe $6.  The necklace is one of my original creations and is probably my favorite necklace as I can wear it with so much.  The earrings were made by someone else and given to me for Christmas a year or so ago.

Day 2 of the Appearance Challenge

The second day of our 7 day challenges and this one is going inward!  I have seen this one show up for a lot of people and most people are guilty of this one and it is time to become aware of it.  What are your judgements toward yourself and toward other's.

Fashion notes- animal stripe burn out T is from the DYT store, chain necklace is a Lia Sophia that a friend found me at an amazing price and the earrings are Lindsi Jo originals.

Day 1 of the Appearance Challenge

If you listened to the call that I posted in the last post on here, Jennifer asked me to do a follow up challenge on Facebook and this is what I came up with.  I felt like I needed to do 7 videos of 7 separate challenges having to go with the call, so I will be posting all of those videos on here for everyone to see.  Here is the first video to open up the challenges with.
The Day 1 Challenge is, What do you love about your appearance and choose to emphasize that.  Watch the video to get the details.

Fashion notes- Cream colored, textured button up shirt is from DYT Store, as well as the burn-out maroon, long sleeved top.  The necklace is one of my originals from my Jewelry line at Peacocks and Leopards Custom Jewelry Designs by Lindsi Jo.

Recorded Call on our Appearance

I was so honored to be asked by Jennifer Lamprey (creator of the I Love My Body Diet) to co-host a call with her on our Appearance & how that affects us in loving ourselves.  On this blog I share a lot of fashion ideas and my jewelry that I create, but I want to be able to reach people at a deeper level with using these aspects and help them realize that there is so much more to just putting things on our body.  When combining the 2 programs, I Love My Body Diet and Dressing Your Truth..... watch out world!  Amazing, confident women will be running the world! :-)  This is a passion of mine and something that I feel that God is calling me to do.  I love empowering women and watching them realize how beautiful and amazing they are and what they have to offer to the world.  Here is the recording of the call I did with her.

I Love My Body Diet Day 30 Hair Reveal

Day 30 of the I Love My Body Diet!  I love this program SO MUCH and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone and everyone!  The things that I have gained through it are life changing and breaking through all of the constant fears was empowering!  Again, if you are interested in learning more, feel free to contact me, but you can go here to sign up if interested.

Here is the best reveal I could of me showing my family my hair.  I was able to get a good chunky of my girl's reactions, but my middle daughter did end up having a melt down when she got in the car... she wasn't happy that my hair was cut off.  The phone cut off before my husband officially came out and it was a good thing that it did.... he wasn't very happy about it and his response wasn't the nicest in the moment, but we worked through it later that night.  I didn't tell him I was doing it and I caught him completely off guard, but after explaining to him my WHY, he was supportive of me.

I also wanted to share some of the photos of me getting my hair worked on.

now THAT is a lot of hair!  There was over a foot cut off, but we did it in 2 cuts.... the first initial cut to make it shorter for coloring, then the actual cut.  I would have donated it if my hair hadn't have had color in it.  I donated it back about 8 years ago, but I had to plan for it and go years with out color.

and here is the Before and After!  I'm not going to lie, I REALLY dig the short hair and really love how it feels.  It feels so good to be rid of all of the emotions that were attached to my hair and to do this for myself and not let anyone's else's opinions control what I chose for myself.

I Love My Body Diet Day 25

Day 25 of I Love My Body Diet.  Doing the unthinkable!  (It is done already, so no talking me out of it ;-) ).  The Hair post that is here has actually reached close to 2000 now.... it has gone viral.

I Love My Body Diet Day 17 & 18

Day 17 & 18 of the I Love My Body Diet.  I apologize for not getting these up when I was doing them, but it became a challenge to get the videos uploaded on YouTube because it takes a REALLY long time to get them up and I had a hard time keeping my computer from shutting down during that time, so I stepped away from it for a while, but I am wanting to get them finished up as I am SUPER passionate about this program!

I Love My Body Diet Day 14

Day 14 of the I Love My Body Diet.  The exercise that is mentioned in this video is POWERFUL!  I was terrified to do it, but there is some serious power in facing your fears.... I have been doing that a LOT lately!  I mean seriously.... gotta love when the still picture of a video looks like that up there and it is posted on the internet for anyone to see ;-)  Such an amazing process.... again if you are interested, you can purchase it here.  If you need a better description of it, here is a better one that Jennifer share on Facebook.

"So I am going to write out a few bullet points of the ‪#‎ilovemybodydiet‬. If this still doesnt seem clear I would LOVE your feedback!
1: It consists of 2 major components
a: The I Love My Body Diet Workbook which is a compilation of 30 exercises that have an intention to each. They are organized in a way to take you through a very loving journey to release, become aware of, and own aspects of you.

Some of the exercises include---finding one of the main negative beliefs that is keeping you from loving your body i.e yourself, and replacing it with a very specific one word new belief that will be written for the whole 30 days. Living in our values instead of our fears. Casting out shame. Seeing yourself as God sees you. Apologizing to your body. Laughing!(todays exercise) and about 25 others... These exercises have purpose and are really to allow you freedom to move in them to experience what YOU need to in order to heal. There is a perfection to the order.
b: The 30 day private facebook group for each month. This is about using facebook specifically as a platform for us to get a group together and heal. Here we grow closer together as we experience deep healing. We are witnesses to one anothers growth in real time. It is a POWERFUL part of this program
-This is about decoding the negative energy around diets.
-It's about shifting from obsession of healthy body or image to allowing healthy body and loving our image NOW.
-Its for women that are ready to have MAJOR movement in their lives.
-It is about giving yourself permission to take the time for you and filling your reserves so you can continue your mission and be the best mom, wife, daughter, business woman you choose to be.
-It is about bringing to light those things that have been pushed deep within and are done with the hide and go seek game many have been playing for years.
-This is about LOVING THE HECK out of our bodies and seeing that they are part of us just as much as our spirits and that we are denying our Divinity by not allowing them to just BE or judging them so harshly. This may even be that last final straw that you are ready to get at and be clear and ready to move to more joyous experiences.
The other not so major but added bonus components are:
1: You will be given fun challenges to receive free one on one work from me
2: Added to the Alumni page that will bring every group from the months together in one space to continue growth and create eternal bonds. There will also be added bonuses and also new exercises to keep the energy of loving our bodies and ourselves greater.
It's $97.00 dollars. The time and energy that is put into this not only by me and the team but by you is equal to hundreds of hours. I have felt to keep at this price point so anyone and everyone who feels inspired to do it will be able to."

I Love My Body Diet Day 13

Day 13 of the I Love My Body Diet.... It was a pretty good day! :-)

I Love My Body Diet Day 12- Heavy Sadness

Day 12 of the I Love My Body Diet.... Today was a hard day and I just felt a lot of sadness and heaviness.  The Adversary is real and I was definitely feeling him on this day.  I'm glad that I get to the point that I have better days than not in my life.

I Love My Body Diet Day 12- Laughing

Our Assignment for Day 12 was to laugh and to laugh on camera if possible.  I have to admit that I was not in any spirits to laugh.  I felt really sad and heavy and just did not want to laugh.... so, I enrolled some YouTube videos and my 3 little girls and I was able to get a smile on my face and some laughs in my belly ;-)

I Love My Body Diet Day 11

Day 11 of the I Love My Body Diet.  I was feeling really awful in this video, so my brain wasn't working as well as I had hoped, but I definitely try to keep these real and only do 1 take... Shame is an ugly thing to have in our lives.

I Love My Body Diet Day 10

Day 10 of I Love My Body Diet.  I was totally and completely exhausted in this one after having my 3 year old scream at me for 3-4 in the morning.... I think she was so overly tired and not feeling well and it was an awful morning..... but here is the video nonetheless.

I Love My Body Diet Day 9

Day 9 of the I love my body diet.  I was dreading doing this video and then I was terrified to post it, but I have been receiving the most amazing feedback from friends and people that I don't even know very well!  Receiving people's responses is what makes the hard times through this, all worth it!  All I can hope is that this message can reach even just 1 person out there who could use it.  So many amazing lessons being learned during this time!  That doesn't mean that it is easy and that there won't be hard times through the journey, but the end result, will be worth it.  Be prepared for a LOT of tears and a truly raw look at who I am.

I Love My Body Diet Day 8

Today is Day 8 of the I Love My Body Diet and we were challenged to create a list of 25 things that we love about ourselves and then share it publicly (which I have been doing this whole journey anyway), but here is my list!

I Love My Body Diet Day 7

Day 7 of the I Love My Body Diet and I had another trigger come up for me.... Hugs!  I am hoping to have more answers on this soon, but until then, please watch the video and let me know how you feel about the questions asked at the end.

Thanks

I Love My Body Diet Day 4

Oh boy.... This was a hard video for me to make!  I said I wanted to show you real and this is about as real as it gets.... I really hope that someone out there can relate to what I share in this video.  I knew the tears would flow before I even started recording, so my heart was pounding and I was shaking through the whole thing.  Nothing like showing yourself completely Raw to the world...

I Love My Body Diet Day 3

Day 3 of I love my body diet... Not going to say much today and just let the video be the post!

I Love My Body Diet

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and New Year (or whatever you celebrate this time of year!).  Both of our days were really great around here and the past 2 weeks have been SUPER busy!  I haven't had any time to get much jewelry created, or get anything posted here...... BUT, I have thought a lot about things and changes that I feel need to be made.

One of the biggest things that has come to me repeatedly that I need to change is that I feel very strongly that I need to be more real.  Not that I am not real in what I share, but there is SO much more depth to me than has been coming across in my fashion posts, and that is needing to change.  One of the things that I am really passionate about, is women loving themselves.  Loving who they are, loving what they look like, feeling comfortable in their own skin.  I say it time and time again, but there is NOTHING more attractive than confidence.  When someone loves themselves, you can sense it, you can feel it and you find yourself more drawn to that person.  Now, there is a difference with confidence and conceitedness, and confidence is what is attractive to people... when someone just knows who they are, what they stand for, and they can accept themselves with how they are.

ANYWAY... this is a topic that I have done a LOT of work on the past 10+ years.  I have a very rocky self image past and have had to really dig deep to gain the confidence that I have now.  As I was trying to think about how I could bring more of this subject to my blog and share myself at a deeper level, an opportunity was presented to me to be a part of a 30 day group and program called the I Love My Body Diet.  This is not a food diet like the name may lead you to believe... No, this is a spiritual journey diet to help you truly fall in love with your body and what it can do for you.  This is a process where you invite God in and ask him to help you dig as deep as you can go and let go of any beliefs, resentment, heart ache that you may have towards your body.  I knew that this is what God was wanting me to do and to share my journey for all to see.... Do you know how scary that is!  Something I am learning to do is move forward with promptings when I receive them.  I have some deep fears and this process is pushing me through those.  I don't like being in front of the camera much.  I struggle with taking pictures of myself, but I feel like I have something to share and push past that... THEN, you add an actual video camera to it and my heart POUNDS!  There is also a fear of being seen by people and not being all done up since that is how I feel they expect me to look... I fear disappointing or embarrassing myself I guess.  On top of it all, I fear looking stupid and people judging me in certain things and putting myself in a situation where I can be seen being emotional... one of my biggest fears is people seeing me cry, but I am letting all of it go and trusting that God will help me through all of the fears in hopes that I can inspire even just one person through this process.

Every day I will record a video on what my feelings are or any thoughts or experiences that I feel to share.  It is time that people see the WHY as to why I do a fashion blog and am passionate about the way we present ourselves and reflect who we are.  There is more to the fashion and jewelry, but those are big things in how we reflect to the world around us who we are, and I love being able to visually show people who I am and what I am about, so here we go!  I hope that everyone will join me in this journey and maybe be inspired to do it themselves.  If you would like to find out a bit more about it, you can go to link here and sign up if you feel inspired to do so.

Thanks for making it through that and joining me on this journey!

Loves,
Lindsi Jo
